Camino de Santiago Day 11: Santo Domingo de la Calzada

With two 17+ mile days under my belt, today’s 13 felt like a breeze. I feel uniquely blessed that I have a solid group of friends to walk with. Everyone brings a different perspective, insight, passion, compassion etc. I don’t think I truly understood the “Camino family” label as I did today.

Today is a hard day for my real family as we lost someone really special to us. Not being home to be with the ones I love the most is extremely difficult but I know this is where I’m supposed to be. This journey has taken on yet another meaning; one of love and remembrance honoring a life that meant so much to my family.

I’m going to leave this post short, just with a final thought. Love fiercely those who are in your life.
